As we collectively move towards the uncharted territories of a new phase of “humans-on-earth” reality, LoA&B seeks to construct sane narratives that will balance out the insanity of the switch we are experiencing. The natural habit(at)s of all creatures are under pressure to either evolve, migrate, or face extinction. It is a threshold and whoever is lucky/unlucky enough to be alive at these times has also the capacity to witness and influence this change.
We call upon all kinds of creative minds that feel in alignment with this invitation to share time, experience, knowledge, dreams, aspirations, in an attempt to co create a better understanding of this uncharted new era we are entering. To build together new narratives which might construct a bright and positive change.
The goal of this experiment is to transform a collective onboard sailing experience into a conference. A workshop, that will produce tools that will help widen and spread our consciousness and understanding on how we, as a species, can act more and more creatively and communally in the future.
All this will occur with the assistance of being close to nature, the sea and her essence, constantly moving, visiting sites around the Aegean.
Join us to help each other evolve new creative technologies, artistic tools and ideas that can be passed along in the form of onboard workshops that are to be hosted by LoA&B next season , in the summer of 2025.
All participants will be eligible to become LoA&B 2025 workshop hosts/instructors.
Important practical information:
LAFRI will accommodate 5-7 people in her 5 cabins, 1 salon bed, 2 deck matresses, 1 hammock.
The first leg of the journey commences on the 16th of October in Korthi, Andros.
There will be the following main stops where participants can embark or disembark:
-19.10.24 Tinos
-25.10.24 Amorgos (Aigiali or Katapola)
-31.10.24 Ios
-5.11.24 Milos (Adamantas)
-10.11.24 Athens
Expenses
All expenses are to be shared between the participants. The skipper is exempted.
According to calculations of past experimental journeys the cost is about 50€/day per person.
LAFRI is already equipped with a fully functional kitchen, spices, cooking gaz, bed linen & towels, and cleaning stuff that are provided.
On embarking-disembarking days the disembarking participant’s expenses are calculated and balanced before goodbyes, hugs and kisses.
Deposit
If you are selected, in order to book your participation you’ll need to transfer a non refundable deposit to LoA&B.
The deposit is 25€ per day of participation. So, for example, if you are to join the journey for 10 days you’ll need to deposit 250€.
Provisions
Provisioning is decided communally by the particular crew on board.
Selection
We will contact the selected participants as soon as we have a first batch of compatible applications. In order to provide participants with a letter of intent or an invitation to participate for funding use, we will start selecting participants mid July.
Bare in mind, we want to have the journey planned and locked by the end of August, so that participants can plan ahead cheap flights and tickets.
If you are selected, we will contact you via email, or WhatsApp/Viber to arrange a first meeting for possible Q&A.
If you are not selected we will let you know by the end of August.
Weather conditions
Even if the weather conditions pin us down for multiple days, we will find the way to get to the meeting embarking-disembarking rendezvous points(stops) on time.
Cleaning & cooking
Cleaning of communal spaces interior& exterior is done by all. Cleaning of the cabin & its WC is done by the disembarking participant who used them.
Cooking or washing up, is also a communal activity. Depending on the composition of the crew. Some might prefer to wash up, some might prefer to cook.
This is how, in LAFRI the magic boat, they somehow magically “happen”…

Previous sailing experiences and communal living experiences are highly valued. Above all, we seek participants who are enthusiastic about the project and can embrace and cherish the moments of connectedness with love and heartfelt gratitude.
Applications will be examined depending on:
– length of time participating. Or port & date of embarking – disembarking.
– creative occupation(field of interest/research). And vision inspired by the project.
– previous sailing experience.
– previous communal living experience
– equipment (art tools) required & availability or logistics acquiring it on board(example: speakers, instruments, paints, etc)
