Arcana Maritima: Oneironautica

A Week-Long Workshop on Water, Dreams, and Communion with
the Wisdom of Nature

We are like the spider.
We weave our life and then move along in it.
We are like the dreamer who dreams and then lives in the dream.

-the Upanishads

Set sail on a journey into the depths of dreams and the secrets of the sea with Arcana Maritima: Oneironautica.

This week-long workshop is designed for dreamers and explorers of all kinds, guiding
us to uncover the ancient bond between water and dreaming, and inviting us to listen to the voices of nature on the magical island of Syros.
In the sailing world, it is often believed that the gentle sway of a boat and the rhythmic sound of water can deepen our dreams. Sailors often describe their dreams at sea as more vivid, vibrant, and touched with a hint of the mystical. Like a voyage that moves with the wind and waves, a dream flows between our emotions and intuition.

What to Expect:

1. Awaken Your Inner Alchemy:
Discover a unique method to engage with your emotional and intuitive senses. Using the natural elements around us—especially water—we will invite these inner faculties to share their profound and mysterious insights.
2.Map Your Energy Landscape:
Learn to navigate your subtle energy bodies. Through meditation and direct play with energy exploration, we will interact with the symbolic elements that arise in our dreams during this journey.
3.Connect with Nature’s Voices:
Tune into the spirit of Syros Island, and the Aegean Sea. We will listen and harmonise with the eternal voices of the land, sea, and sky. These voices—whether they are mythical, mineral, or vegetal—carry stories and wisdom, especially crucial in our current time of ecological awareness.

Inspirations:
This workshop is woven from a rich tapestry of influences. It draws on the insights of Carl Jung, the philosophical musings of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, the poetic imagination of Gaston Bachelard, and the mystical journeys of Carlos Castañeda. Contemporary thinkers like Dr. Martin Shaw, Dr. Joan Harthan, and Dr. Bayo Akomolafe also shape our exploration. The instructor, inspired by the stillness and introspection afforded by the Covid-19 pandemic, invented this unique method to explore the profound connection between water, dreams, and nature, in this very landscape.

Outcome:
By the end of Arcana Maritima: Oneironautica, you will have gained valuable tools for self-reflection, kindled your creative depths, and possibly discovered a new pathway to awakening within this collective dream we call reality.

Join us on this voyage into the heart of maritime mysteries and dream exploration.

However, it would be helpful if the participants had previous individual experience with any means that facilitates a turn inwards. A few words about the facilitator:
Despite having waited for an acceptance letter to Hogwarts most of her teenage years, Christina studied Art Theory and History in the Athens School of Fine Arts, Acting in the Athens Conservatoire, and holds a MA in Cultural Studies. Over the years she’s taught art theory and history, intellectual history, English and Greek. Having lived in the mythical Cyclades for the past five years, she earns her living by sailing in the summer months, and in the wintertime devotes herself to her true purpose; writing, and venturing forth into the uncharted territories of psyche, consciousness, and esotericism.

Take your time and consider the following questions before answering. (Please keep it around 700 words, or less) What draws you to dreamwork? What is your position on mystery? Do you happen to find yourself at the beginning or ending of a life phase? Like you’re about to close a circle, but missing a clue, like something is escaping your grasp? Is there something that you are refusing to let go of? Do you find yourself in front of choices you need to make, that you’re avoiding? Is there something you’re chasing, that keeps getting away? what?
